proudambassador: Londo Mollari peers down the hall in Green 2. (Watching)

This is ludicrous.

I will not be shoved into a room full of people and expected to share a tiny room. No.

I will work. Anything, to get out of this room.

Except I will not work with animals. They are filthy creatures, and I do not like getting dirty. Nor will I clean. I am not the cleaning type, no.

I am also not built for combat. It is not my thing, I think is said. Running, exertion, wastes. All of them.

I know nothing of medicine. That would be a bad fit, yes.

There should be things left? With good housing. I will have my own room. One way or another.

[There's a pause in the writing.]

What, exactly, is left?

She likes to run but that wasn't the question...

Making the paper for making the books. Working in the shops. Those things are left the remains of what you aren't willing to do.

Were there other nations to name they could put your name to use, she supposes.

My dear Qi. Who would run when you can relax?

Books. Maybe I could do books. It is not too much work?

Yes, yes. But instead we are stuck here, in this little place, doing little jobs, for little coins.

It helps her to relax. whoosh goes the wind in her hair and she can think on her own again.

I haven't gone to see.

Little coins made of wood. It's silly.

I think it is far easier to think when one reclines.

You are silly, others are silly, and even I am silly. This place, it is not silly. Silly is amusing.

Stupid, dangerous, bái mù. But the money. It's old. It can be copied.

I had not thought of that. It is an interesting idea.

She wonders how they make them.

They are wood.

There is wood everywhere.

Yes.

But to pull things down and tear them apart is only asking for the same to be done in response.

From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
Oh no, I was not thinking of doing that. There is a park, hm? There are trees. And those trees drop limbs.

Ah. Luck!

I do not think that I believe in luck.

Then whatever good thing you believe in.

[There's a long pause as the pen sits on the page.]

I believe in something.

But I do not remember what it is.

Bureaucracy.

Start your own business, or learn to operate a hand organ on a street corner.

Date: 2010-05-23 03:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
Neither, I do not think. You need something to start a business with, my dear person. And the other, it sounds stupid.

Burn.

Have you considered record-keeping, or perhaps working as a professional gambler?

Apparently a new bar has opened.

Ambassador.

Gambling. That sounds familiar.

Grift, he has had a bar. It is that he is adding to it.

[PING.]

Ambassador.

Perhaps he is looking for someone to run the tables, then?

Waiting, I do not think I am good at. But if he is looking for someone to run the gambling, this I think I can do.

Filthy!?

I hope a cow sits on you.

Date: 2010-05-23 03:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
And that would be even more filthy. Whyever would you even wish that on someone?

Date: 2010-05-23 04:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] its-me-hooray.livejournal.com
It'd make me feel better. Cows need a place to sit sometimes, and I hear that lazy people are the cushiest.

Date: 2010-05-23 04:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
I am not lazy.

I have standards, that is all. Perhaps if one sat on you your attitude toward someone new would change, hm?

Somebody's spoiled.

From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
I do not know why every one thinks they should settle for whatever.

Date: 2010-05-23 06:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grinninggrifter.livejournal.com
Once you enter a profession, there is no reason to settle, of course. You work and claw your way up. It's just the way the Sphere turns!

Or you could find a wealthy friend and leech off of them. That's what my roommate does, since I happen to be so generous.

Date: 2010-05-23 06:58 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
This option you did not mention to me. I do not suppose there is room for another?

Date: 2010-05-23 07:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grinninggrifter.livejournal.com
Afraid not, my friend. Find some other sucker, and maybe you'll have some luck.

Date: 2010-05-23 07:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
Ah, so you are a sucker for the other?

Date: 2010-05-23 07:12 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grinninggrifter.livejournal.com
Perhaps, perhaps. But he is not without things that benefit me, after all.

Date: 2010-05-23 07:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
That is fine. I do not think I wish to be entirely idle.

There are amusements somewhere here? Aside from the place that keeps changing?

Date: 2010-05-23 04:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] grinninggrifter.livejournal.com
As they say, an idle mind is the Devil's workshop, no? But I rather think busy minds can be just as sinful, so that may be wrong.

There aren't many amusements. There's usually things to do in the Bazaar if you like shopping and a few restaurants. If you're one for the outdoors, there's usually a few people playing around at the park, but that, sir, is not for me. There is a spa, and hot springs, which I do very much wish to check out later on.

And of course, my favorite: the shooting range.

Date: 2010-05-24 12:06 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
Do they? All it takes, I think, is creativity.

A spa. There is that, at least.

Shooting. Something I will think about. I thank you.

[*eyebrow*, but she's trying to be helpful]

I'm sure the journal makers have openings. I just left for Medical, anyway. You get to choose where you live, except for Section 4, and it's not very hard work, although you need patience and a bit of dexterity.

Date: 2010-05-23 07:37 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
I am dexterous. In most ways. Ambidexterous, even.

Patience... it is a virtue. I do not have many of those, my dear girl. But like with all things, it can be worked at.

Date: 2010-05-23 07:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weaver-girl.livejournal.com
Then it should be right up your alley!

I think you've ruled out quite a few of the things people can do for a living, so maybe that is a good idea.

Date: 2010-05-23 07:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com
If I am to be stuck here, I might as make sure I am not stuck doing something I hate, hm?

Date: 2010-05-23 08:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weaver-girl.livejournal.com
Yes, of course. I'm sorry; that sounded a little too blunt. I wouldn't want a job I couldn't enjoy at least somewhat, either.
