Fourteenth Manifesto

So this week, we are supposed to run around half-naked and jump into water?

I think I will not be participating in this, hm? I do not want to scar so many people at once. Do ask the good man who had my body. No, no, I think the Great Maker would quite understand my reluctance to be a part of such a thing, yes? Be it given to us by the spirits here or not.

Instead, I will remain fully dressed. I do this for myself as much as for all of you, out of the goodness of my heart. You should thank me, yes? This way, you still get to keep all of your women, and the white of my skin does not strike blind the entire population.

You're being so considerate.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Everyone is entitled to enjoy the beach in the way they most like.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Am I not? At times, I can be very considerate. And at others, well, let us not talk of those times, hm?

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, but I have never been to a beach. So I do not have my own way to enjoy it. And I think it would be too hot, if I was to wear what I am most comfortable in.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you need to find a way to both enjoy it and be comfortable, sir.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Sir? If you must use a salutation, Ambassador will do. I do not command, hm? But my friends, they call me Londo, yes? And one can never have too many friends.

I will enjoy it. One way or another. If only to thank the Great Maker that it is no longer storming and that my house has not left me again.

There are other things to do on the beach besides swim.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Are there? Do tell, my dear girl. I would not like to miss something, no.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Londo it is, then. I'm Allelujah.

Something like that is worth celebrating.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It is good to meet you, Allelujah. That is a phrase used by Earthers in worship, is it not? I have heard it, a time or two.

A roof. Such a little thing, and yet, it is so important.

[identity profile] cornered-circle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You can blind people?

Are you 'alf-medusa?
shadedsunlight: (tee hee~)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2009-06-23 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Beaches are relaxing places in general, so they're good for taking long walks on. Seashells and other stuff like polished rocks might wash up on shore so some people enjoy collecting those things. I like curling up on the sad with a good book sometimes.

Basically it's a place to relax and spend time with people and have fun.

It is a phrase, yes? When things are very bright or reflect the sun quite a lot, it seems blinding. I do not have time in the sun, often. So my skin, it is very pale, yes?

I do not know what a medusa is, but I do know that I am entirely Centauri.

[identity profile] cornered-circle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... what if you stayed out of the sun completely, would it turn into full-blindness then?

Medusa was this poor woman that got snakes or lizards or somethin' stuck in 'er hair, an' I guess when that happens that makes you able to turn stuff to stone just by bein' looked at. Which is nice if you need rocks for buildin' stuff, but not so nice otherwise.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
A book on the sand? Perhaps that would be cozy, yes? I could wear lighter garb than normal, for that. There are not bugs in the sand?

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It is not blinding without reflecting the sun, no.

It would not be pleasant to look at your meal and turn it to rocks. Did the woman starve to death?

[identity profile] cornered-circle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Blinding people might be fun! You could sneak around them easy, then, and steal their stuff. ♣

It would if you ate rocks! But I'm not sure what she ate. Tho', I always wondered if her snakey-things needed to eat too.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It could be, yes, if I was interested in stealing items. That does not appeal to me so much, no.

This is true. But I do not eat rocks. And from what I know, snakey-things, they do not eat rocks either.

[identity profile] cornered-circle.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Not even if they were nice items?

They're probably too crunchy for eatin'. But good source of minerals, yes?

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
No, not even then, my dear girl.

I do not know. Could they be digesed?
shadedsunlight: (cute)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2009-06-23 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I don't think so, but you could always put down a beach towel and lay on that.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
A beach towel? There are towels made just for this?
shadedsunlight: (smiling 2)

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2009-06-23 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
A beach towel is normally larger than a regular bath towel, so they're useful for sitting or lying down on as well as using as a regular towel.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Then a larger towel I will look for! I would enjoy a towel that is larger.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's the phrase used.

The most important thing in the whole building, or in any kind of shelter.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
So your parents, they were happy to have you, yes?

Yes. It is what keeps you dry, or from having things fall onto you.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think so. Sadly, I don't remember those years.

Indeed.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
No? I am most sorry. Family, they are an important thing. Even if you grow farther away from them with time, they are still there. The one event, it created new families, yes? Was something there that you could continue? It is a good feeling, belonging.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very important. Yes, the event - and this place itself - gave me a family, and a place to belong.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Then with them, new memories can be made, yes? A place to belong is an even more rare thing than a family. It is not to be looked down on.
