Fourteenth Manifesto

So this week, we are supposed to run around half-naked and jump into water?

I think I will not be participating in this, hm? I do not want to scar so many people at once. Do ask the good man who had my body. No, no, I think the Great Maker would quite understand my reluctance to be a part of such a thing, yes? Be it given to us by the spirits here or not.

Instead, I will remain fully dressed. I do this for myself as much as for all of you, out of the goodness of my heart. You should thank me, yes? This way, you still get to keep all of your women, and the white of my skin does not strike blind the entire population.

Ah, but I have never been to a beach. So I do not have my own way to enjoy it. And I think it would be too hot, if I was to wear what I am most comfortable in.

Then you need to find a way to both enjoy it and be comfortable, sir.

Sir? If you must use a salutation, Ambassador will do. I do not command, hm? But my friends, they call me Londo, yes? And one can never have too many friends.

I will enjoy it. One way or another. If only to thank the Great Maker that it is no longer storming and that my house has not left me again.

Londo it is, then. I'm Allelujah.

Something like that is worth celebrating.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It is good to meet you, Allelujah. That is a phrase used by Earthers in worship, is it not? I have heard it, a time or two.

A roof. Such a little thing, and yet, it is so important.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's the phrase used.

The most important thing in the whole building, or in any kind of shelter.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
So your parents, they were happy to have you, yes?

Yes. It is what keeps you dry, or from having things fall onto you.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think so. Sadly, I don't remember those years.

Indeed.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
No? I am most sorry. Family, they are an important thing. Even if you grow farther away from them with time, they are still there. The one event, it created new families, yes? Was something there that you could continue? It is a good feeling, belonging.

[identity profile] alle-halle.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very important. Yes, the event - and this place itself - gave me a family, and a place to belong.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Then with them, new memories can be made, yes? A place to belong is an even more rare thing than a family. It is not to be looked down on.
