Ninth Manifesto

My roof is leaking. But, but! This time, I still have a roof, yes? The last time, it left. And I was stuck facing a creature I would rather not see again. This time, there is water dripping down when I least expect it, wherever it feels I would least enjoy it, but the creatures are outside, and this is a very good change.

I hope the casino is still there. But I am not going out there to check. If Vir were here, he would. He runs faster, and when such monstrosities are going around, prowling through our streets, it is better to send the faster Centauri, no? The younger, more spry one. Also, he is resourceful. Abrahamo Lincolni, I ask you...

But I have 'potato chips,' which are edible, more or less, and canned mushy green round things. There was no label on the can. I suspect it was unlabeled since people would not eat them if they were warned of what the can contained. But once it is opened and you are hungry, then you are stuck, no? Humans are often like that.

I suppose it is time to go back to making sure the drips do not put out my little fire, yes? I would not like to see that go out.

There is not one. What even can make such things? I do hope the Animus are not amused by such thoughts.

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
In my experience, such things would be caused by magic of some kind. I'm not sure what else could cause it.

The Animus were able to turn some here into something akin to zombies for some time, but they were returned to their natural selves after the time was done. Also, they were not rotting corpses, thankfully enough.

I hope I never see such a thing. Narns are disturbing enough.

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Narns"? May I ask what those are?

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
They are another race from where I am from. Narns are primitive, loud, messy, disrespectful, and altogether a lower form of life than any other race I have encountered thus far.

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
I see. They sound rather like the Orcs from my own world.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps they are the same, then, my dear lady.

*spittake of amusement at that icon*

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible they could be equivalents from one world to the next.

heehee

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-20 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
I would hate to think that more worlds than mine would be afflicted with such burdens.

The grin! *snorts*

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-20 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
It seems many worlds are afflicted with such things... if not another race of beings altogether, then perhaps just another group of beings of the same race with different beliefs.

He has such fun happy faces...

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-20 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps one day all worlds will be free of such, no? It will be a most excellent day, I do believe.

XD

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-20 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if the worlds are not free of detestable beings, it would be nice to be able to see all living in peace.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-20 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Could there be peace, with such roaming the universe still and causing trouble in the many ways they like to?

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-21 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. It all depends on if an agreement can be reached and enforced.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
The Narns cannot be trusted with agreements. We have tried, yes? Many times. Every time, it has backfired.

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
That is a shame. Unfortunately, there are beings like that as well. It is then that the greater good must prevail.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
This is precisely what I keep saying. But no, the humans and Minbari are convinced that there must be some redemptive quality in Narns. One day, perhaps, those illusions will be wiped away, no?

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
There may yet be, but, if there is not, then someday, they will see that. People do not live under illusions for very long unless they truly want to believe them. Eventually, something will force them to see the truth.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
An excellent reminder, that. I will keep it in mind, hm? And on the gray days when things do not seem to be looking my way so much, I will recall it, and it will bring a smile to my face.

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
*chuckles* That sounds like an excellent idea, Ambassador.

[identity profile] proudambassador.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
And I have you to thank for it, my good Lady.

[identity profile] lothlorienqueen.livejournal.com 2009-03-25 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you're quite welcome. *chuckles*
